TEMPERATURE SENSORS

C-Temp International provides a wide variety of temperature sensor products. Since most applications are unique, we match our sensor topology to your requirement. The majority of our sensor products are contact type topologies. That is, they actually come into physical “contact” by touching the material or substance that requires measuring. Because of this contact, it is very important to select the right type of sensor. The sensor and housing must match the application to prevent problems that occur when operating in less than ideal environmental conditions. These external factors can also affect accuracy and reliability which are two essential features of temperature sensors. In addition to the importance of their accuracy and reliability, choosing the right sensor will also be determined cost and stability.

Primary factors in selecting a temperature sensor?

  • First, understand and define your application’s requirements. What are the environmental conditions in which the sensor will be operating. The typical external considerations are; operating temperature range, pressure, humidity, shock, vibration, and flow rate.
  • Second, what is the substance or material being measured?
  • Third, how does the substance or material interact with the sensor?
  • Fourth, what are the electrical performance characteristics of the sensor? The most common include: accuracy, stability, repeatability, time constants, and insulation resistance.

Once the determination is made regarding the primary parameters of the temperature sensor application, the topology can be selected. This will determine the type of sensor needed to meet the electrical attributes and the physical construction needed to meet mechanical requirements. The connections will drive the final form.

C-Temp International can help the selection and final construction direction.

THERMAL SENSORS

Our thermal sensors are analog, semi-precision and precision type sensors primarily used in industrial applications. The industrial industries using our analog thermal sensors are Energy, HVAC, Process Control, Power Generation, Semiconductor and test/Measurement. Our secondary markets for products are Aerospace, Food Service, Medical, Military, and Pharmaceutical companies.

C-Temp International supplies analog thermal sensors engineered to address the critical process of temperature measurement and control necessitated by the industrial industry. Special precautions are taken against contaminants and we take additional steps to ensure we have complete materials compatibility. Our specialized thermal and temperature sensors are utilized by many premier manufacturers, particularly, those that operate in extreme environmental conditions and may come into contact with hazardous substances. We see to it that we match the right application with the right type of temperature sensor. C-Temp International can help with the thermal sensor selection process.

TEMPERATURE MEASURING ELEMENTS

C-Temp International provides a wide variety of temperature measure elements. Our primary temperature measuring elements are Resistive Temperature Detector (RTD), Thermocouple and Thermistor. The selection of the element is based on the application and electrical parameters including operating temperature range, accuracy, stability, ease of use, mechanical packaging, and cost. Once the element is determined, the selection of the housing is next step in the component selection process. The primary purpose of the housing is to protect the sensing element. The housing has a major effect on the elements response time and accuracy. It is essential that the huosing and material be matched to the sensor application to allow for good thermal transfer.

We match our sensor topology to your application. Our application engineers can answer any questions or make suggestions regarding the type of elements, the housing material, construction, wire, insulation, and connectors.

C-Temp International understands the need for fast response, quick turnarounds and quality designs to insure accuracy and reliability. Not to forget, but a product that delivered on time and is competitively priced.
